Hey, guess what? The government just sent out a bunch of money – like, Sh2.1 billion for this thing called the Inua Jamii Cash Transfer Programme and Sh5.9 million for Nutrition Improvement through Cash and Health Education (NICHE) Programme in December 2023!
Florence Bore, who works in the Labour Cabinet, spilled the beans about this cash. She said they’ve sent the money to all the people signed up for Inua Jamii and the NICHE programme.
Bore mentioned that the cash will start rolling in today, going straight into the bank accounts of 1,044,621 Kenyans who are part of the Inua Jamii Programme.
Get this – each of these 1,044,421 Inua Jamii folks will be getting Sh2,000 for December 2023. Not too shabby, right?
Inua Jamii is this cool programme that helps out the most vulnerable folks by giving them some money every month. It’s all about keeping them away from hunger and poverty, and making life a bit better.
And get this – since last July, these Inua Jamii peeps have been getting this money every month, all thanks to a call by President William Ruto. How awesome is that?
