Akothee has now enrolled for an MBA at Mount Kenya University. She narrated her moving story as below:
In the journey of life, I once saw education as a distant obligation. In my youth, I ran away from school, not realizing its true value. Dropping out in Form Two and choosing marriage seemed like the path, but life had a different plan.
Marriage brought challenges, but also the realization that my education was incomplete. With the weight of responsibilities, I took a step back, prioritizing my children, siblings, and family over my own aspirations. The struggle persisted until financial independence became my reality.
In 2007, I rekindled my dream, joining Nairobi University’s Mombasa branch. Financial constraints forced me to defer, but my commitment to education remained unwavering. By 2013, I entered Mt Kenya University, yet faced new hurdles β the allure of parties and a lavish lifestyle.
Luxuries didn’t fill the void; education lingered as an unfulfilled aspiration. Realizing my potential, I redirected my focus. Today, I stand as a testament that it’s never too late. The Birth of Akothee Academy signifies my journey β from struggles to triumphs.
To those who halted their education journey for various reasons, I urge you to pick up where you left off. As I embark on my Master’s, I share this story not just as mine but as an inspiration. Life is a continuous journey of growth and learning. Embrace the challenges, overcome the obstacles, and reclaim the dreams you once set aside. In two years, God willing, my Master’s journey will conclude, marking another chapter in the ever-evolving story of resilience and success. π #NeverTooLate #EducationMatters #AkotheeAcademy
