Varied reports indicate that the Kirima Family has agreed to resolve the dispute involving the long term occupants of the land which the courts recently ruled belong to the Kirima family.
It is said that the Kirima family in a bid to solve the dispute has initiated the sale of parcels of disputed land in Njiru, by making offers to the squatters who have been on the land for over 10 years.
However the offers have been made with today’s prices in mind instead of the prices at which the squatters initially purchased the land. For example, the Kirima family is willing to sell 40 by 80 plots at Kenya Shillings 3 million and 30 by 60 plots at Kenya Shillings 2 million.
The Kirima family is selling plots to people who have been living on the land for 12 years. One person from Golden Court, Chokaa Area, is buying a 30 by 60 plot for Sh2.17 million. Another resident from Golden Court is purchasing a 40 by 80 plot for Sh2.7 million. According to a document, buyers will need to pay Kes.100,000 as an introductory Administrative cost for their new homes. This cost covers Sub-Division Cost, Valuer’s Fees, Administrative Fees, and Legal Fees related to the estate.
