REASONS TEACHERS SHOULD HANDLE OUR CHILDREN WITH CARE π
John Makori, hailing from Nyamira county, faced immense challenges early in his life. Tragically, he lost his father, and his family home was demolished by his uncle, leaving them displaced. This ordeal plunged his mother into depression, leading to substance abuse, and neglect of John. Forced to seek refuge, John found himself living amidst the tea plantations of Nyamira county.
Fortunately, fate intervened when his classmate, Samwel Makori, discovered John’s living situation. Touched by his friend’s plight, Samwel brought John to his mother, Nane Kemunto, who welcomed him into their home. Nane Kemunto, despite struggling to support her own six children, extended her care to both Samwel and John.
Despite the adversities they faced, both John and Samwel excelled academically, passing their exams with flying colors. John’s remarkable journey came to light when details of another student from Nyamira were being gathered. The media team from KCB brought John’s story to our attention, and through collective support, John was successfully admitted to school.
Now, the focus shifts towards ensuring Samwel, John’s friend, and brother in spirit, also has access to education. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who have supported us in this endeavor. π
