When people win the green card lottery many end up asking the people who live and work in USA 🇺🇸 to sponsor them.
I have been hearing a few cases here and there in our Kisii community in USA 🇺🇸 but I have come to learn there are many people who never refunded the people that sponsored and in some cases bought the tickets for them to come here.
Many green card holders move from the host homes with bitterness in many cases they feel exploited by the hosts especially those with small children!
I have hosted over 15 people in my house only 2 left in good standing the rest expected me to cater to them and they wanted to live and eat for free do zero chores because according to them for the many years you have lived in America you should be able to host people for free…am yet to see the ones I hosted hosting people!
I stopped hosting people once I had the 3rd child then I added one more so technically there was no room to host anyone.
In some cases the people who are being hosted have molested the host children and some cheated with the host wife or husband.
While we believe in helping each other as a community of immigrants some of these people we host end up destroying our lives forever.
One lady told me she won the green card right after high her mother sent her to a friend from their village the man forced himself on her and she got pregnant that night and she’s still with the man they have 4 children now but she’s still very unhappy because she was very young to be a mother at 18 years old…
There are sad stories associated with people who are hosted and the hosts!!
When it’s siblings hosting you that’s another story for another day I know so many siblings who don’t talk to each other and all the bile stemmed from them living together as adults in a foreign land….there’s one that told me her older sister came to live with her and she expected her to do all the work because she’s al older sister and that dictates respects 😳
Imported partners is another story….
If you were associated to come to America why do you find it so hard to refund whoever you borrowed money from?
