The fam of the late Starehe MP, Gerishon Kirima, got the green light to kick out more than 1000 squatters from their Njiru farm. Judge Samson Okong’o sided with Kirima’s fam, saying the land rightfully belonged to them, not the bunch of folks claiming it.
But to give the squatters a break, the court said they had until December 31 to pack up and hand back the land. If they didn’t, Kirima’s estate could boot them out.
Some other crew got 90 days to buy bits of the property from Kirima’s widow, Teresia, and their daughter, Anne.
For those not covered by the court’s ruling, they had 90 days to prove they’d paid for their plots to Teresia and Anne, showing receipts from Gerishon Kirima and deeds for the land they’re claiming.
The judge found proof that Kirima had given receipts under “Embakasi ring road developers” for payments made on the land.
During the case, Kirima’s daughter Anne mentioned that they knew their dad had sold parts of the Njiru properties to some folks who were already living on those plots.
