Who Killed the Sniper?
Investigations seem to be moving at a high speed to apprehend the suspected murderers of the late Daniel Muthiani Bernard Alias Sniper.
The ODPP has confirmed cause of death as “Asphyxia Secondary to Manual Strangulation”. This means that the victim, Daniel Muthiani Bernard, lost his life due to a lack of oxygen resulting from deliberate strangulation by physical force.
The main suspect Vincent Murithi Kirimi Alias Supuu O Mioro is in police custody, court hearing set for 8th Jan 2024 at Kiambu Law Court.
Earlier today, several other youths were arrested and are being held for interrogation in the same matter.
Through a press statement, ODPP has assured thorough investigation, withdrawing previous application. A team of Senior Prosecutors is guiding the case.
Pursuant to Article 157 (4), the Inspector General of Police has 7 days to forward the Murder Inquiry File. The DPP has voved to ensure that the perpetrators are held liable irrespective of their status in society.

Meanwhile, Twitter DCI have established the following about the death of Sniper ;
1. Sniper was an ardent critic of Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza. There are rumours that a prominent politician was involved.
2. Sniper real name was Daniel Muthiani
3. Sniper was dosed in acid, eyes gouged out, his tongue and teeth removed.
4. Sniper, has left behind a young wife and two little kids.
New Developments:
Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza’s son and brother, along with three others, including Kenneth Mutua, Fredrick Muriuki, Frankline Kimathi, Timothy Kinoti, and Murangiri Kenneth arrested for the murder of Meru blogger Daniel Muthiani a.k.a Sniper.
DCI has filed a request at Kiambu Magistrate Court seeking a 21-day detention for the suspects, alleging they lured the blogger with a false promise of a truce with Governor Mwangaza.
Muthiani went missing on December 2, 2023, and his body was found in Mutonga River in Tharaka Nithi County on December 16, 2023, with a postmortem revealing signs of strangulation and other injuries.
