There’s no argument about Nairobi being filthy. Everywhere you turn is filled with rubbish, trash, garbage, fiith, name it. Some of us are embarrassed. Some of us not so much ju tumezoea. We have never seen it clean. Why is it like this?
Shacrine Karani answers the question. She says
In as much as we are calling out the government to fulfill it’s role for the taxes that we pay, let me honestly say that as Kenyans we are just a disappointing lot. Tell me why someone in a matatu, should buy an orange or a banana and after eating it, open the window to through the peelings outside? Tell me why a person in his/her personal vehicle, should open the window and throw a plastic polythene outside so that it doesn’t dirtify his/her car? We have also failed as citizens and we are generally irresponsible. This irresponsibility reflects in how we also vote as a citizenry. Everywhere is filled with polythene these days. It’s just pathetic. Mimi usijaribu hiyo ujinga ukiwa karibu na mimi. Ati you have eaten something then you want to throw the litter where you are (where l am) or through the window where l am next to you. Nitakuzomea vibaya sana.
Caroline Wahome says
We are overpopulated. Our City is a big slum. Bad governance and thievery selfish citizens.
Mwai Gachunga says
I have said it repeatedly that if you swap Nairobians with Texans, in a few short years, Nairobi would look like Texas and Texas would look like downtown Nairobi. It all boils down to a people’s mindset
Shyiber Maina says
A clean city also calls for that city dweller being responsible you can’t throw waste every where and still cry your city is not clean
In Nairobi we have waste bin all over but still find waste scattered all over meaning Nairobians are the one to be blamed
Okay having heard from these street comedians, now let us ask you. What is your opinion? Why do you think Nairobi is perennially filthy? So filthy that it must be cleaned daily and still manages to look filthy?
Do better,Β be better, don’t trash the city.
