Oscar Pistorius is a former South African sprinter and Paralympic gold medalist.
In 2012, Pistorius became the first amputee to compete in the Olympics. He has also won six Paralympic gold medals in Athens in 2004, Beijing in 2008, and London in 2012.
Now under community corrections, the double amputee begins his parole life at his uncle’s heavily guarded property near Pretoria.
Convicted of shooting Steenkamp in 2013, Pistorius transitioned in prison, and is reportedly now a gray-haired, religious smoker.
Initially convicted of culpable homicide, his charge escalated to murder in 2015, leading to a 13-year sentence after an appeal found his initial penalty too lenient.
